the homestretch

I have one more semester left of school. Come December, my obligations towards my parents are over. I will be free.

Also, things are going really well for the band. We got to play Warped Tour this year. It was a dream come true. My experience with this band can be best described like that carnival game where you throw darts at barely inflated balloons:

For the past four years, I have been aimlessly throwing darts, hoping that the balloon I pop will win me a good prize. Now I know which balloon I am supposed to hit. But just because you know what balloon is the winner, doesn’t mean your dart will pop it.

btw- I’m writing in my tumblr again

You’re Welcome, World.

This weekend the guys and I finished up our new album, “You’re Welcome, World.” I usually find recording very stressful, but I had a great time this weekend. Being with the band 24/7 for a few days straight was great, and it felt like tour sleeping on the floor everynight.

We will have new music posted in a week or so. I’m going to be extremely anxious until then. Then the album will be out on March 6th :)

Unfortunately, I’ve only seen Caitlin twice in the past two weeks because we’ve been so busy in the studio. I usually get to see her 14 times in two weeks, so it sucks pretty hard. I’ve been trying really hard to make some new friends now that I’m back in Keene as a real student. It’s been going great, but I’d rather just hang out with her. On the 19th it’s our 4 year anniversary. Holy shit.

and if i fail, well then i fail.

It’s amazing how sometimes a song can capture exactly how you feel. today, i discovered the format:

what’s left to lose?
i’ve done enough.
and if i fail, well then i fail, but i gave it a shot.
and these last three years,
i know they’ve been hard.
but now its time to get out of the desert and into the sun,
even if it’s alone.

Is there anybody on the receiving end?

I’m reaching out for some kind of connection.
